Turumeke Harrington is a young designer and artist based in Lyttelton. She holds qualifications in industrial design and shoemaking, and is currently working towards another in Te Reo Māori.
Acutely aware of herself and her context, Turumeke likes to produce work grounded in humour and play.
She considers this collection art by design, utilising her knowledge of materials and production and her relationships with various manufacturers to produce work that provokes and reflects upon her whakapapa and skills.

Turumeke has been awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, and in 2017 will travel to Vancouver, Canada to undertake a fully funded masters at Emily Carr University.
